Education

Nicholas Carroll graduated valedictorian of Somerset High School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seton Hill University with a B.A. in Music with Piano as his major instrument. He graduated from the American School of Piano Tuning in 2008. He studied Music Education, and Piano Pedagogy/Performance extensively at Seton Hill. Nicholas has been teaching piano privately for years and is a renowned virtuoso pianist. He was awarded the prestigious Program in Music award from Seton Hill University in 2006 and is an Active Member of the Pennsylvania Music Teacher's Association (PMTA) and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians (ALCM).

Performance

Nicholas Carroll performs regularly in our area. Nicholas has released two full length piano solo albums of original arrangements and compositions: Christmas in Somerset (2018), and Prayers for Piano (2022), both available on all streaming platforms. Nicholas has published a set of sacred choral composition entitled “Scripture Songs for Small Choirs” available from SMP press. Nicholas is a regular performer and most notably has performed at the Flight 93 Memorial for the First Lady of United States. As Director of Music at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church he can be heard playing the organ and piano each week. He also performs annual concerts. Nicholas is a composer of many piano solo pieces, piano songs, and choir pieces and is especially fond of improvisation.

Above all accolades Nicholas is an avid piano lover and has been playing since the age of 6. He lives in Windber with his wife, Stephanie and pet tortoise, Lidiya.
